how to play
• You'll log in to an app which will present a generated map of the area with various check points indicated on the map.
• Players divide into two teams, attackers and defenders.
• When the game begins, a random set of checkpoints are selected which become the objectives of the attacking team.
• If attackers can capture all checkpoints before time expires, they win!
• Defenders win if the time expires or if they are able to tag out all attackers.
• To capture a checkpoint, simply go to that location and stay within GPS range for long enough to capture it. Only you will see the checkpoint changing colors.
• Once captured all players will be notified and the defenders will likely be coming for you so be ready to move!
• Defenders can tag out an attacker by first getting close to them. Once in range, the attacker's player marker will appear on your map. Simply touch their player marker on the screen. The player marker will only appear when they are within about 10 feet of you.
• At the start of a game, defenders congregate in a central location with limited visibility and wait for attackers to start the game. Attackers are free to move within the map into a beneficial starting position away from and unknown to the defenders. Attackers will not see their checkpoint objectives until the game begins.
• When the game begins, a 20 second 'strategy' countdown will begin. All players must remain in place during that time. This allows both teams a chance to make a plan as a team before starting the game. Checkpoints cannot be captured during this time.
• During the game players can communicate with their team using 'touch to talk' in the app. By default their voice will go to all team members. They can also talk to a single player by holding touch to talk and sliding up to a specific player. In either case you must hold the button down until you are done talking. Communication is instantaneous. The push to talk button looks like a 'record' button on the bottom left of the screen.
• During the game you will find yourself needing to describe locations on the map. The game has a feature we call, Ping, which enables you to indicate a specific location to other players. The ping button is the reticule located on the bottom right side of the screen.
• To communicate a location, simply click the ping button and the touch a place on the map. The ping will be displayed immediately on your teammates map. You can touch an old ping to dismiss it or just ignore it and it will dismiss itself after a while.
• Defenders have the ability to use a radar feature to assist them in discovering the location of attackers. When the radar circle is red, there are no attackers in your vicinity. When green, there are one or more attackers nearby. You can extend or reduce the radius of your radar with the slider control at the bottom of the map.
• Players are prohibited from entering buildings during the game and must stay in bounds at all times.
• The game involves running around in an urban setting. We attempt to pick safe locations but there is no way to avoid all danger with an outdoor game of this genre. If you think this game may not be safe for you to play, then we prohibit you from playing it! You will be asked to sign a waiver and agree to our terms and conditions which include:
